Our 3-bedroom, 2 bathroom cave house is available for holiday rental. Situated in the village of Galera in Andalucia the cave offers a relaxed holiday in friendly rural surroundings.

The cave house is fully modernised and refurbished to a high standard but still retains a rustic style with many unique features. Cave houses are ideally suited to the climate in this area of Spain; because of the insulation provided by layers of rock they stay naturally cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Inside the cave house has high ceilings and a spacious feel. Windows at the front of the house provide natural light to the living areas. The cave is cosy and welcoming and has an open fire for the occasional cooler evening. 

The cave is located at the bottom of a valley and has a large level enclosed patio area and no steep drops so is suitable for children. It is within easy walking distance of the pretty village centre with a range of shops, bars and restaurants. There is also a swimming pool located in the centre of the village (open in the summer only).  A short drive away are small market towns and lakes large enough to be used for swimming and watersports. The area around Galera is known as the Altiplano and is an unspoilt area of nature reserves with magnificent views towards mountains. Slightly further a field are the historic cities of Granada and Cartegena or the coast at Almeria. 

Galera is easily accessible from good roads via the main A92N motorway, in comparison with England the roads are very quiet.  For this type of holiday car hire is essential. Hire cars are easily available from airports or can be booked in advance when booking flights. 

The cave houses in this area have been featured in television programmes such as Dream Holiday Home on Channel 5 and a full size replica was shown at the Ideal Home Exhibition.
